President Hope

I watched the Inauguration from Germany via CNN.com Live online. My favorite part was the quartet playing a piece by John Williams. I thought the cutest moment was when Obama forgot the line in the swearing-in (honestly, it was a tongue twister). He was very sober in assessing the current situation and called upon us to take on the responsibility with him to pull us out of it. Admittedly, I was in tears during parts. 😉

Of course, through this whole thing, I was scared stiff that he would be shot. I feel much better seeing him still in good health. 🙂 The whole show was well put together. The poet Elizabeth Alexander was an odd choice, but everyone else was great. The presenters were very diverse in age, race, and gender, which I feel was a great sign of the unity we hope to see in the future. lol Rick Warren was definitely a good example of bridging the gap.

All in all, I feel good. I agree with everything President Obama said, and I look forward to seeing how he plans to achieve all his great ideas. 🙂 Yes we can.

  1. JUST THINK IF IT CAN TOUCH YOU HALF WAY AROUND THE WORLD, HOW THE COMARODY WAS HERE IN THE STATES.
I HAVE TO ADMIT THIS IS THE FIRST INAGERUAL I’VE EVER WATCHED FOR AS LONG AS I DID. AND TO WATCH IT OVER AGAIN AND AGAIN.
I THINK I WAS GLUED TO THE TV FOR THE BETTER HALF OF THE AFTERNOON.
THEY ARE ALREADY NICKNAMEING HIM ROCKSTAR. I DO BELIEVE HE HAS THE MINDS OF THE YOUNGER GENERATION

  2. Glad you were able to watch the activities today. I thought it was very interesting and I am impressed with his talk and his general attitude. It is quite different and we do need that.

I saw Julia when she was less than 2 hours old and she is beautiful. She seemed alert at such a young age and was doing very well.

    Love, Grandma
