Little Things
Went to see Dark Knight, which was worth seeing. I was surprised at the length, and I am sad Heath Ledger is no longer with us. He was a decent actor, and did a good job portraying a psychotic “joker”.
We went shopping again, a few times… we now have a sofabett, or a “futon”. It is German style, however, so instead of a frame that folds in half with a cushion on top, it is a full fledged couch. The back drops down and the seat slides forward, making a much more comfortable double bed. You have to see one to believe it. We can now comfortable sleep four additional guests (if two are couples), and more if necessary.
This weekend we were supposed to go to London or Budapest, but I had a week of training that botched our plans. Herr and I went to Mannheim on Saturday, where we picked him up a pair of brown wingtip shoes to match his new brown suit he is wearing to his first day of class in Frankfurt. Yup, you heard me right. He is refreshing German railroad employees’ English skills through January, and his first class is happening right now! Very exciting times. 😉
While he is out, I took the time alone to beat Legos Indiana Jones. Very fun! Silly video games such as the comic Legos series are a great way to relieve stress. I am also looking forward to acquiring Rock Band 2, coming out in October!
Ah yes, and I have to say the political arena is very intriguing. Young Barack Obama selects an older Caucasian male with a long line of experience in foreign policy. Old John McCain selects much younger Caucasian female with very little experience. I do think both candidates could have picked better VP candidates, but they both balanced each other out, in experience and appearance at least.
Personally, Cindy McCain and Sarah Palin scare the crap out of me. Way too right wing for me. Middle ground is better, something like being personally pro-life but understanding the need for better unplanned pregnancy education, alternative options such as stronger adoption/foster families or whatever. Just for the record, I am very pro-choice but really want better options for unplanned pregnancies that isn’t preachy. These people need honest answers and real support.
I could go on and on about several hot topics, but I think instead I’ll let out the dogs and prepare myself for a busy week of work. Happy Labor Day!
