An interview!

A quick note to say Herr has an interview on Tuesday. We’re both excited because it is with a German company as an English teacher! Herr has expressed great interest in teaching, especially in a foreign country. This is a big opportunity for him, even with the odds against him. German companies must hire natives unless for good reason, so let’s wish him good luck!!

Die Kartoffel

Yesterday my brother celebrated his birthday by going out to eat at a nice restaurant called Die Kartoffel, which means The Potato. We sat outdoors, and had a great time. The menu was a bit more expensive (by about 8-10 euro a dish, but it came with salad, potato, and dipping sauces), and we ended up paying for both my brother and his wife.

I ordered “vernison filet”, and Herr had rumpsteak. “A Megh of Many Colours” also ate there and took a picture:

I would have taken a photo, but I was told the camera wasn’t necessary (we saw a lot of pretty flowers though, I wish I had brought it!)… The venison was gamier than I had tasted before, so I enjoyed it with one of the sauces that was apple-based. Very delicious! The potato was very loaded, but very tasty. Even the tea was good! :D

I would recommend Die Kartoffel, although be prepared to spend about 25 euro a person.

Death of a PS3 :*(

That’s right. I haven’t had my Playstation 3 for three months, and it has died. Well, it turns on, but it will not take any discs. I am so very sad. :-( I will most likely have to replace it or send it in (that could be complicated), but with Playstation 3s, all game data is saved to the console instead of a memory card or the game. So when the console dies, all my game data dies. I do only have the Simpsons, Rock Band, and Ratchet and Clank saved, but it’s sad! BluRays aren’t an option now too. I hope it isn’t as bad as it seems.

Moo cards!

A while ago, I had some personal “business” cards made through Moo, a U.K. company. I am very happy with the cards, although it took a bit longer to deliver as they sent them overseas. I could choose either from their designs or upload my own. I used some of my photos that could be cut into widescreen. I only have two of five designs left. The popularity are in this order:

  • 5th place*

    Bee image.
  • 4th place*
    Paw print image.
  • 3rd place
    Light cog image.
  • 2nd place
    Flower image.
  • 1st place
    Flower image.

*still available

I am considering ordering more, but I am not sure if I should make real business cards or make more of my personal “business” cards. If so, I need to pick at least two or three new designs. The flower photos and cogs went well… but if I make them for work, I should probably not use my own photography. Hmmm… at least I have time to ponder it! :D
