Fall

I LOVE this weather! Finally! It's been in the high 70s/low 80s, and it's been absolutely wonderful. Yesterday got a little warm with the sun, but overall, this entire week has been to die for. The heat here is unbearable during spring/summer, but autumn is very pleasant. I miss this kind of weather… ahhhhhh…

Looking at this year in overview, it's been very busy. I've been stressed out a lot because of funds… but let's take a look at this in retrospect…

January: car accident (lose his precious car to a sleepy doctor and get completely screwed by the insurance company)
February: wedding (week trip to Minnesota in gas guzzling rental truck); purchase new stupid car (I get the loan… but don't get to drive); brother gets fiancee; site launch
March: s.o. quits job; honeymoon in Japan (two weeks)
April: site launch
July: another week trip to Minnesota; credit card decides to double APR (for no reason, so had to find a new one); learn about becoming aunt/uncle…
August: two site launches, one very large one; s.o. becomes employed part time
October: week and a half trip to Germany; four day conference trip to CA
December: two site launches; holiday with in-laws…

I mean, just for one year, that's kind of a lot… it sucks to be the one paying most bills including rent and car, and insurance… all the little bills… I am so freaking stressed, but at least the weather's nice. Not for long though, another extreme stress factor is global warming issues… Inconvenient Truth, 11th Hourcommon gorilla extinction??.. can we have a “Lights Out” Day? Don't turn any lights on for an entire day… “Power Out” Day… where we leave only our fridges on but nothing else (a/c, heat, tv, radio, lights, computers…)? Earth Day was a good idea, but we need more proactive days now… “Plant a tree” Day… “Recycle” Month… “No Car” Day…

If you don't think this has anything to do with you, and your driving to work and leaving the TV on all day doesn't do much, you're wrong. It has EVERYTHING to do with you. And me. EVERYTHING counts. EVERYTHING matters. Don't make excuses. Remember in elementary school, the game “Why?” “Because.” “Why?” “Because.” “Why?” “Because.”. It's not elementary school anymore. This is stressing me out, and I don't even know what to do besides do them right in my life. Walk to work every day. Turn off my computer when not in use. Only one light on at a time. Temps set to extremes on thermometer. Plants (even without a yard). Recycle (even if it isn't easily provided here). More organic and local food. Minimize toilet flushes. Maybe I should start photographing garbage next to beautiful flowers…? *sigh*
